Proposition A/AA and Measure J Bond Construction Program

The Los Angeles Community Colleges have embarked on a multi-billion dollar building program to address much needed campus improvement and transform its nine community colleges into state-of-the-art educational resources for students and the community.

MBI Media has been working on this program since its inception. We designed and currently hosts the www.laccdbuildsgreen.org public relations website. MBI Media is currently responsible for the one main site which updates all public relations events and press releases. This website is the key portal to the community that contains updates on the progress of the construction at all nine community colleges. In addition, MBI administered and maintained the www.propositiona.org contracting website which included postings of all Requests For Proposals and bid information on upcoming opportunities for contractors.

MBI Media has proprietary web-based archival software that allows images to be uploaded to a web-based library. Each campus has its own section and folders in the library, making it easier to follow the progress of the construction. Project managers and other team members have access through a client portal to view the images. Our photographers take monthly photographs of the construction in progress and then upload the images to the library. LACCDBuilds Green team members also have the ability to upload photographs and view images in the library. A special safety section was setup for the safety manager and has been very beneficial in highlighting infractions occurred and training the contractors in safety methods. The web-based archival library is a documentation of the construction in progress. Since this is an archival library, it can be viewed after the project is complete and can be beneficial in claims and risk management.

Streaming web cameras were placed on all nine campuses. MBI Media purchased the cameras, facilitated the installation and monitored the cameras on a daily basis. The streaming images were available to the construction project managers via a website. This was a demanding undertaking on the part of MBI Media. We coordinated between the facilities managers at the campuses, the construction project managers at the location and the Internet Service Provider as well as the overall project management team. It was our responsibility to monitor the cameras on a daily basis and make sure the cameras were streaming properly to the website. The cameras were also a tool for the safety manager to watch for infractions.

MBI Media provides all construction aerial photographs and video documentation of all new and renovated construction occurring on each campus. This information is used for powerful presentations.

MBI Media in-house photographers schedule monthly photo shoots for each of the nine community college campuses. The purpose of the high quality photographs is to document the construction in progress and used to populate the web-based archival library. The photographs also help populate the LACCDBuilds Green public relations website. Our photographers also attend groundbreaking ceremonies or other special events.

On an as needed basis, MBI Media will design marketing collateral pieces as requested. Our in-house graphic designer is able to meet tight deadlines and deliver a high quality product.

On a quarterly basis, MBI Media provides exceptional quality materials for executive-level presentations, which include the District Citizens Oversight Committee (DCOC) meeting. The aerial photographs and video are used to make the presentations spectacular.
